Remake Hackathon – Winner

Dublin, Ireland

Project Background

50 designers. Over 100 derelict chairs. 8 hours. The task in this competition was to create an original piece of furniture using waste chairs as the source material. The chair I made was based off of a tradition style Amish stepladder chair and was created using several different chairs. I opted to Leave the chair unvarnished and unsanded, as I felt the contrasting textures and colours of the original chairs embodied the competitions philosophy and style. Images by Sara Furlong.
